It is with great pleasure and a wonderful sense of pride that I welcome you to our school. Since 1999, Grand Avenue State School has fashioned a culture that symbolises and exemplifies excellence in public school education in the Forest Lake area. Today, we offer a truly unique 21st century learning environment where we want our students to be exceptional learners who are of high character.


At Grand Avenue State School, we create a culture of high expectations and a sense of belonging for our students and staff to grow, achieve and succeed. We want students to feel good about who they are as key members of our school community, build their love of learning and thrive as active participants in learning and achieving. 

Our high standards of teaching and learning empower all staff to know their students and drive improvement through active engagement within the Australian Curriculum. The whole school approach to learning and wellbeing ensures everyone feels safe, valued and respected and our families play an active role in their child’s learning and wellbeing. Our ongoing partnership and engagement within the local community helps to strengthen outcomes for all students.

I am confident that all staff and students have the capacity and ability to meet our high expectations, and the demands of this very important work. We believe that success is not an option but an expectation and a habit.

We look forward to our school being an integral part of every student’s educational experience, as we believe education is a shared community responsibility. Grand Avenue State School recognises the need for genuine partnerships to exist between home and school. Students will always thrive when the school and home are working together as a team, toward common goals.   We are committed to building positive partnerships with our school community to provide the best possible outcomes for our students in a supportive, safe and positive school environment.
