It is with great pleasure and a wonderful sense of anticipation that I welcome you to our school website. Since 1999, Grand Avenue State School has fashioned a culture that symbolises and exemplifies excellence in public school education in the Forest Lake area. Today, we offer a truly unique 21ST century learning environment where we want our students to be exceptional learners who are of high character.

Teachers and support staff are firmly focused on ensuring we deliver on our school's vision of “engaging young minds to influence and shape a better world".  We want students to feel good about who they are as key members of our school community, build their love of learning and thrive as active participants in learning and achieving.

The experiences we provide through our engaging and connected curriculum will set them up for success across all phases of their lives.  Our long-term aim is to ensure that all students thrive and become assessment capable learners, living out our school's C.A.R.I.N.G. values, connecting with each other, aiming for excellence, becoming more resilient and independent, fostering a nurturing environment and possessing a growth mindset.    I am confident that all staff and students have the capacity and ability to meet our high expectations, and the demands of this very important work.

We believe that success is not an option…but an expectation and a habit.

Our forte is partnering with parents, staff, students and the wider community to ensure success for every child.  These partnerships enable us to build on the strengths of tradition and performance and to live out our values, and our commitment to knowing, understanding, valuing and caring for every student that enrols in our school.

We are delighted you are curious about our school, and look forward to you making it your child's second home.

We look forward to working with you to provide the highest possible quality education for your children, and grow their ability to love learning and love life, and be good at learning and good at life.

Regards

Tony Maksoud
