Each year our prep students visit the Nudgee Beach Environmental Centre. 'Little Things Matter' is the core focus for students as they use their senses to interact with the flora and fauna of Nudgee Beach through a variety of hands on activities. The students will gain a greater understanding of how the environment provides the basic needs of living things (food, water, air, shelter) and make predictions on the consequences of simple environmental changes on living things.

During Term 2, year 1 students visit the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. Lone Pine's 'Backyard Explorer' creates a journey of discovery while introducing diets, habitats, adaptations and plenty of problem solving. During the year, students in Year 1 also attend a starlab incursion. Students experience a simulation of sunrise, sunset, day and night to see stars, planets, the moon and constellations.
