Grand Avenue State School offers an extensive music program, both in the classroom and at a co-curricular level.
Our program presents the opportunity for every child to understand the contribution music makes in one's life and establishes an opportunity for lifelong learning.
The music program aims to develop the child's:
- awareness of music
- response to music
- self-expression in music
- knowledge and skills in music.
The school program has three elements:
Classroom music program
- Singing
- Listening
- Playing instruments
- Movement
- Creating.
Co-curricular Choral Music Program
- Senior Choir Years 4–6
- Junior Choir Years 2–3.
Co-curricular Instrumental Music Program
- Strings, woodwind, brass, percussion
- Junior and senior performance ensembles and bands.
